The Island Prize for a Debut Novel from Africa 2025 invites African writers to submit their debut novels for a chance to win publishing support and cash prizes. African writers aged 18 and over, born in or holding citizenship of any African country; not represented by a literary agent or under contract with a publisher; complete novel length 35,000-100,000 words.

Submit required materials via email to theisland@hhousebooks.com, including the first three chapters or 10,000 words, a covering statement, a one-page synopsis, and formatting details.
