Georg Forster Research Award for Developing and Transition Countries 2026 – Germany

The Georg Forster Research Award is awarded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development through the Humboldt Foundation to researchers from developing and transition countries in recognition of their entire body of work and potential for further contributions. The award supports researchers for a project duration of about six to twelve months, with a total funding amount of €60,000 awarded to up to six recipients annually.

Nominees must be nationals of a developing or transition country and must have had their main residence and place of work in one of these countries for at least five years at the time of nomination.
