Data Science Summer Academy

A multi-week summer academy introducing participants to the full data science pipeline, including Python, Jupyter Notebooks, data visualization, inference, prediction and a capstone project using real-world data. The program includes lectures, labs, guest speakers, excursions and sessions with UChicago admissions counselors. It is taught by preceptors and faculty from the University of Chicago Data Science Institute. The program is aimed at current high school students and culminates in group and individual project work.

Instruction by UChicago Data Science Institute preceptors and faculty, hands-on labs and a capstone project, guest speaker sessions, access to campus resources, and sessions with a UChicago admissions counselor.

Available for current high school students who are at least 15 years old; applicants should have a strong background in math (minimum Algebra I), statistics and coding and be comfortable with English; applicants must be Hong Kong residents or be eligible to study in Hong Kong during the program period.
