Umholi we Africa (UwA) Fellowship 2025

The Umholi we Africa (UwA) Fellowship is a 12-month, fully funded fellowship designed for exceptional young African changemakers. It places fellows in high-impact government and policy roles, working alongside ministers, members of parliament, and senior public leaders in their home country. The program includes leadership training, mentorship, and ongoing coaching through the AL for Governance network, with tasks in research, policy analysis, project planning, and stakeholder engagement.

Fellows receive placement in government or policy institutions, opportunities to influence governance, leadership training, mentorship, and ongoing coaching through the AL for Governance network.

Applicants must be African nationals, graduates of the African Leadership Academy or the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program, hold at least a university degree, have at least 4 years of professional experience, and demonstrate a commitment to public service and governance.
