The Umholi we Africa (UwA) Fellowship 2026 for young African changemakers

The Umholi we Africa (UwA) Fellowship is a 12-month fully funded fellowship designed for exceptional young African changemakers. Fellows are placed directly in high-impact government and policy roles in their home countries, working alongside ministers, members of parliament, and senior public sector leaders, and receive leadership training and mentorship throughout the program.

Leadership training, mentorship, and strategic advisory experience in public service, along with placement in government or policy institutions.

Applicants must be African nationals, graduates of the African Leadership Academy or the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program, hold at least a university degree, have at least 4 years of professional experience, and demonstrate a passion for public service and political or policy leadership.
