MathSafe Volunteer Training

MathSafe Volunteer Training prepares volunteers to support a safe and welcoming environment at mathematical meetings by offering trauma-informed listening skills and guidance on how to assist meeting participants who experience harassment or misconduct. Trained volunteers are available at supported conferences to listen, offer resources, and connect individuals with formal reporting channels or professional assistance. Volunteers receive role-specific materials (button and business cards) when signing in to serve at meetings. The program is organized by MathSafe with administration sponsored by the American Mathematical Society and engagement from major mathematical societies.

Training in trauma-informed listening and guidance; eligibility to serve as a MathSafe volunteer at supported meetings; when signing in to serve volunteers receive a MathSafe button and business cards with a QR code.

Volunteers from across the mathematical community are welcome and encouraged to sign up for MathSafe training.
