Swiss Government Excellence Scholarships 2026–2027 – Fully Funded Research Fellowships

The Swiss Government Excellence Scholarships are funded fellowships for international early-career researchers and artists to conduct research or pursue study in Switzerland. The program is administered by the Federal Commission for Scholarships for Foreign Students (FCS) under the Swiss State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation (SERI). It offers full funding including stipends, tuition waivers, health insurance for some awardees, travel allowances, housing grants, and access to cultural and networking activities organized by FCS.

Monthly stipend, tuition exemption, health insurance for non-EU/EFTA awardees, travel allowance, housing grant, public transport card, access to cultural events and networking activities.

Candidates must be international (non-Swiss). Research scholarships require a master’s degree; art scholarships require a bachelor’s degree. Applicants must be nominated by a host professor at a Swiss university or research institution and meet age and language requirements.
