TWAS-Abdool Karim Award in Biological Sciences for women scientists in Low-Income African Countries

The TWAS-Abdool Karim Award in Biological Sciences recognizes women scientists in Least Developed African countries for achievements in Biological Sciences and includes a cash prize of USD 5,000. The award is administered by TWAS and involves a pre-screening at TWAS followed by evaluation by a jury to select the winner. The programme aims to honour notable work by women scientists in the region and is associated with Professor Quarraisha Abdool Karim.

Eligible nominees are female scientists not older than 45 years, nationals of a Least Developed African country, who have lived and worked there for at least two years immediately prior to nomination.
