International UN Volunteer Program 2026

The International UN Volunteer Program invites qualified individuals to volunteer in a country other than their own, working with United Nations agencies and local partners on humanitarian, development, peacebuilding, and public service initiatives. Opportunities are published throughout the year on the Unified Volunteering Platform, and volunteers can serve from 1 to 48 months. Volunteers gain international experience, develop skills, and contribute to sustainable development goals.

Gains international volunteer experience with United Nations agencies, develops leadership, communication and cross-cultural skills, expands professional network, contributes to peace and SDGs, and supports humanitarian action.

Be 18 years of age or older and meet the education, work experience, and skill requirements of the volunteer assignment; have knowledge of English, French, or Spanish depending on the assignment; and be willing to work with people from different cultures.
