AI Rapid Response Fellowship 2026

The AI Rapid Response Fellowship is a specialized, full-time program to place technically trained or policy-oriented professionals in executive branch offices to work on AI security-related issues. It offers two tracks (Fellow and Senior Fellow) with roles predominantly based in DC, and remote possibilities in some cases. The program seeks individuals with relevant AI security expertise and policy or government experience to contribute from day one.

Salary in the range of $170,000–$200,000 for the Fellow Track or starting at $250,000+ for the Senior Fellow Track, plus benefits and relocation support where applicable; includes professional development, networking, career guidance, and a professional development budget.

Core qualifications include expertise relevant to AI security, relevant work experience in policy or government, and US citizenship; prior security clearance is preferred but not required for all placements.
