Master of Arts in African Languages and Cultures

The Master of Arts in African Languages and Cultures is a two-year, full-time master’s programme with a focus on applied African linguistics, language in culture, and Ethiopian and Eritrean studies. It is offered in Hamburg and taught in English, with multiple study profiles and specialisations. Graduates are prepared for careers in research, education and consulting, and can further develop language skills in Swahili, Hausa, Amharic or other African languages.

Degree: Master of Arts. The programme provides English-language instruction, international elements, and structured specialisations; graduates gain advanced linguistic and cultural knowledge and highly transferable research skills.
