The Chauncey Bailey Journalist of Color Investigative Reporting Fellowship is a yearlong program that supports journalists of color in developing investigative reporting skills and producing a community-benefiting project. It provides assistance to attend multiple IRE trainings, including data journalism bootcamps and conferences, along with mentorship and data services. The program aims to broaden the range of backgrounds and experiences in investigative journalism and benefits both the fellow and their news outlet.

Open to U.S. journalists of color who want to improve their investigative skills. Journalists globally can apply but their work has to be for a U.S.-based audience. Applicants should have at least three years of post-college work experience and be currently working with a supportive news organization or as an independent journalist.
