Charlotte W Newcombe Doctoral Dissertation Fellowships

Administered by the Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship Foundation, the Charlotte W Newcombe Doctoral Dissertation Fellowships are designed to encourage original and significant study of ethical or religious values in all fields of the humanities and social sciences, and to help Ph.D. candidates complete their dissertations in a timely manner. Fellows may explore related topics in ethics or religious studies and related areas. Approximately thirty fellows receive $19,000 for twelve months of full-time dissertation writing, and their graduate schools are asked to waive tuition or remit some portion of their fees.

Stipend of $19,000 for twelve months; tuition waiver or partial tuition remission at the fellow's graduate school.

Ph.D. candidates at institutions in the United States who will complete their dissertations during the fellowship year.
