Banting Research Foundation Discovery Award

The Banting Research Foundation Discovery Award provides a one-year grant of up to $25,000 for innovative health and biomedical research projects. It targets outstanding new investigators at Canadian universities and research institutes who are within the first three years of their first academic appointment. The aim is to provide seed funding to help researchers gather pilot data and improve competitiveness for other funding sources; at least 6 awards are funded each year.
