European Commission Access City Award 2026

The European Commission Access City Award recognises EU cities that prioritize accessibility for persons with disabilities. The award celebrates cities that demonstrate a coherent approach to accessibility across built environments, transport, information, public services and housing. Prizes are awarded to the top three cities, with additional mentions possible.

Monetary prizes for the top-ranked cities; potential Special Mentions for housing accessibility or other exceptional work.

The award is open to all EU cities with more than 50,000 inhabitants, or urban areas composed of two or more towns with a combined population over 50,000 in EU countries with fewer than two cities over 50,000.

Applications must be submitted electronically via the online application platform.
