African STARS 2025 Fellowship for Health Professionals and Entrepreneurs

The African STARS 2025 Fellowship is a fully funded programme developed by Mastercard Foundation, Stellenbosch University (South Africa), and Institut Pasteur de Dakar (Senegal). It offers two fellowships: an Advanced Translational Training (ATT) track for 4 to 6 months focused on genomics for public health, diagnostics design, and vaccine development; and a Young Professionals Programme (YPP) track for 12 months covering research management, entrepreneurship, and R&D in infectious diseases, with placements in leading research institutes and biotech partners.

Applicants must be African-born or residing in Africa, 35 years of age or younger, hold a relevant degree (bachelor required, master or PhD preferred), have experience in genomics, diagnostics, biotechnology or vaccine development, demonstrate leadership potential and commitment to Africa's scientific growth, and have fluency in English or French (both languages is an asset).
