Computing Engineer – Data Storage System

The Computing Engineer – Data Storage System is an early-career, paid engineering position within CERN’s IT Storage and Data Management group working on CERNBox and large-scale data storage. The role involves backend development (Go), packaging and deploying services with Kubernetes and Helm, operations and user support, and collaboration with partner research infrastructures. Contracts can be extended up to 36 months and include professional training and language classes.

Monthly net stipend (5266–5793 CHF), 30 days paid leave plus 2 weeks annual closure, comprehensive health insurance for self/spouse/children, CERN Pension Fund membership, family and child allowances, relocation package, on-the-job and formal training including language classes, possibility to extend contract up to 36 months.

Applicants must be nationals of a CERN Member State or Associate Member State (with some nationalities currently not considered). By the application deadline applicants must have a maximum of 2 years of professional experience since graduation and hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree (cannot hold a PhD). Applicants must never have had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
