Advocate Program

The Advocate Program is a Society for Science initiative that provides training, stipends, and year-round support to STEM educators who guide students from underrepresented races/ethnicities and low-income households to enter STEM research fairs and competitions. The program operates in one-year cycles and awards funds to educators to mentor and increase student participation in science competitions.

Stipends for Advocates and Lead Advocates; year-round training and support; mentoring responsibilities; involvement in program leadership and cohort activities; opportunities to impact thousands of students participating in competitions.

Educators and mentors who help students from traditionally underrepresented races/ethnicities and low-income households engage with STEM research fairs and competitions.
