It supports forward-looking basic research projects addressing technical, economic, social or political aspects of the Internet. Projects may be submitted as Einzelprojekte (individual projects) or under the ESPRIT programme, with programme-dependent duration and funding levels.

Researchers of all disciplines at Austrian universities and non-university research institutions may submit proposals that produce new insights into technical, economic, social or political aspects of the Internet.

Submission via the electronic application portal elane according to FWF application guidelines for Einzelprojekte or ESPRIT, plus an additional elane form describing relevance to the call.
