DESY Summer Student Program 2027

The DESY Summer Student Program is an international summer research internship hosted by DESY (Deutsches Elektronen-Synchrotron) in Germany. It places selected undergraduate and master’s students in research projects across particle physics, accelerator science, photon science, computing and related engineering fields for approximately 8–9 weeks. Participants work under supervision of DESY scientists and attend lectures, laboratory visits and workshops. The program provides international research experience and a certificate of participation.

Applicants must be enrolled at a recognized university during the program, have completed at least three years of full-time university studies by the program start, be studying physics or a closely related field (eg. engineering, scientific computing, mathematics), plan to continue studies after the program, and have a good command of English. Master’s-degree holders are generally not eligible.
