Umeå University Postdoctoral Scholarship in Bacterial Genetics 2026

The Umeå University Postdoctoral Scholarship in Bacterial Genetics is a two-year, full-time research position focused on bacterial genetics, cell-wall biology and infectious-disease research. The researcher will join the Cava Lab in the Department of Molecular Biology and work on identifying genetic networks involved in peptidoglycan biogenesis and cell-wall remodeling, contributing to clinically relevant infection research. The position is open to early-career researchers who have recently earned a PhD in medical or life sciences and will be evaluated through a midterm review.

Early-career researchers with a PhD in medical sciences, life sciences or an equivalent discipline; must have completed their doctorate by the time of selection, with priority to PhDs obtained within three years before the deadline.
