Hector Research Career Development Award

The Hector Research Career Development Award is a fellowship programme run by the Hector Fellow Academy to support outstanding early-career researchers and junior group leaders in Germany. It provides a personal research allowance, funding for a full-time doctoral position, and membership in an interdisciplinary research network. The award supports research in natural sciences, engineering, medicine, psychology, computer science, biology, chemistry and applied physics. Membership in the academy network and access to additional funds for collaborative projects and conferences are included.

EUR 25,000 per year personal stipend; funding for a full-time PhD position; EUR 9,500 per year research allowance for the doctoral researcher (for 3 years); five-year academy membership; access to additional funds for conferences and collaborative projects.

Applicants must be W1 assistant professors or junior research group leaders employed at a recognized university or research institute in Germany and have obtained their doctoral degree within the last 7 years. Eligible research fields include natural sciences, engineering, medicine, psychology, computer science, biology, chemistry and applied physics.

Prepare CV, research proposal, diplomas, recommendation letters and publication list; submit the online application via the Hector Fellow Academy application portal; applications are evaluated by the academy's scientific committee.
