MRC Proof of Concept: Stage Two

The MRC Proof of Concept: Stage Two is a competitive UKRI funding opportunity to develop and test novel therapeutics, medical devices, diagnostics and other health interventions across the developmental pathway up to early-phase clinical studies (phase 2a). Projects may range from prototype development and pre-clinical refinement through to early clinical evaluation. Applicants must have been invited to submit a stage two application following a successful stage one submission.

Project funding to develop and test therapeutics, devices, diagnostics and other interventions; support may cover activities from prototype development through pre-clinical work to early-phase clinical studies.

Applicants must be eligible organisations that will direct and be actively engaged in the project and must have been invited to submit a stage two application following a successful Developmental Pathway Funding Scheme (DPFS) stage one application or an invited panel-approved resubmission. International researchers can participate as project co-leads (international) and international collaborators may be included as project partners.
