The Anne S. Chatham Fellowship in Medicinal Botany supports research in the medicinal use of plants. It targets PhD students and recent PhD graduates who are enrolled in or based at U.S. institutions. The fellowship provides a grant to cover research-related expenses, including travel, field studies, and laboratory work.

One annual grant of $4,500 to support the research project; funds may be used for travel, field studies, or laboratory research.

Open to students currently and actively enrolled in PhD programs at recognized universities or PhD graduates who have received their degrees in the last five years; U.S. citizens and permanent residents enrolled in a U.S.-based institution.

Submit a brief application letter, an abstract (200 words or less), a 1–2 page research proposal, a 1-page budget, a current CV, and letters or documents as specified (advisor letter for graduate students, permits if applicable).
