A one-day scientific conference organised by the National Institute for the Study of Totalitarianism (INST) of the Romanian Academy focused on the 1964 Declaration and its political, diplomatic, economic and social implications. The event gathered researchers from several national research institutions and other organisations to discuss the context, short- and medium-term effects, and international perceptions of Romania in the 1960s. Sessions covered topics including economic orientations of the communist state, social impact, Romania–Soviet relations and the Sino–Soviet conflict.
