International Cancer Research Fellowships (iCARE)

The iCARE fellowships were a mobility programme supporting young cancer researchers to gain training and research experience at centres of excellence worldwide. Fellowships had a duration of two years and were offered as Outgoing, Incoming and Reintegration types to enable mobility to and from Italy. Fellows conducted a research project under a mentor and participated in workshops and targeted training in managerial and administrative aspects of cancer research. Contracts included social security coverage and employment benefits.

Two-year employment contract, social security coverage and benefits, mentorship, participation in workshops and targeted training.

The programme supported young researchers working in oncology through three fellowship types: Outgoing (Italian researchers to work abroad), Incoming (non-Italian researchers to train in Italy) and Reintegration (Italian researchers returning from research abroad).

Awardees were selected on merit through an expert peer-review process.
