Department of Physics Graduate Student Travel Award Fund

A departmental travel award fund to provide graduate students with financial support for participation (remotely or in person) in conferences or workshops, professional development activities not covered by advisers' research grants, or to supplement funding for unanticipated medical, financial, or educational expenses. Awards are typically limited to a maximum of $400 for conference travel and $200 for educational equipment, with higher amounts possible in exceptional cases. Students are limited to one award per academic year unless unused funds remain at year end. Decisions are made by the associate head for graduate programs.

Submit a completed Graduate Travel Award form by the posted period deadlines; for conference awards include a brief letter of support from the thesis adviser (can be submitted via e-mail to Associate Head Lance Cooper). Questions and submissions may be directed to the associate head for graduate programs.
