Novo Nordisk Foundation–Funded Postdoctoral Fellowship in Agriculture and Plant Science 2026

The Novo Nordisk Foundation invites applications for a Postdoctoral Fellowship Programme for researchers working in plant science, agriculture, and food biotechnology. The fellowship supports early-career researchers in establishing an independent research profile and conducting projects addressing global challenges in sustainable agriculture, food production, environmental sustainability, and climate change. Fellows conduct their research at a university or non-profit research institution in the Nordic region (Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, or Sweden) and receive funding for up to three years.

Funding for up to three years, opportunity to lead an independent research project, potential for part-time research at institutions outside the Nordic countries, support for developing an academic career and international collaborations.

Hold a PhD or be currently enrolled in a PhD programme and expected to defend before 1 April 2027; secure a host institution in one of the Nordic countries and obtain official host confirmation; provide letters of support and propose an original research project in plant science, agriculture, or food biotechnology.

Submit a research proposal and supporting documents to the Novo Nordisk Foundation by the deadline; host institution confirmation and letters of support are required.
