PhD at Risk Scholarships 42 Risk (XLII Cycle) – University of Padua for Refugees or Asylum Seekers

The PhD at Risk Scholarships at the University of Padua are fully funded doctoral positions for scholars whose academic careers have been disrupted by conflict, persecution, or humanitarian crises. The XLII Cycle (2026/2027) offers an annual gross stipend and relocation/integration support for at-risk international candidates pursuing PhD studies in Italy at Padua. Three scholarships are available for the 3-year doctoral programs.

Applicants must be individuals from conflict zones or humanitarian crises and must be refugees or asylum seekers; they must face political, religious, ethnic, or social persecution and belong to groups denied academic freedom or civil rights; they must meet standard PhD admission requirements at the University of Padua.
