Hardware Support Engineer (Fabric and Communication Systems)

The Hardware Support Engineer position is an employed, early-career role within CERN's Fabric and Communication Systems group supporting a heterogeneous server technologies testbed. The role involves maintaining and upgrading servers, debugging system issues, installing and configuring new technologies, and providing support to scientific communities and industry partners. The appointment includes on-the-job and formal training and may be extended up to 36 months.

Monthly net stipend (CHF 5,266–5,793), paid leave, health insurance for self and family, pension fund membership, family/child allowances, relocation package, language and on-the-job training, possibility to extend contract up to 36 months.

Applicants must be nationals of a CERN Member State or Associate Member State (with some nationalities currently excluded as specified). By the application deadline, applicants must have a maximum of 2 years of professional experience since graduation and hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree (must not hold a PhD). Applicants must not have had a previous CERN fellow or graduate contract.
