LUKE – Linking Ukraine to the European Research Area (LUKE Joint Call 2026)

LUKE – Linking Ukraine to the European Research Area is a multilateral joint call to fund collaborative research projects involving researchers from Ukraine and researchers in at least two other participating countries. The FWF finances Austria-based parts of fundamental research projects; more applied Austrian projects are to be submitted to the FFG. Projects have a maximum duration of 24 months and must provide substantial and complementary scientific contributions from each partner.

Funding for Austria-located project parts for up to 24 months.

Researchers at universities, non-university research institutions and relevant industrial research departments active in the call topics; projects must involve researchers from Ukraine and researchers in at least two other participating countries.

Submit the full proposal to the Call Secretariat's electronic submission system (DLR) and additionally submit administrative/financial data and scientific abstracts via the FWF elane system under the program category 'KIN – International – Multilaterale Initiativen'. Specific required documents listed on the FWF page must be uploaded.
