A three-day virtual workshop to strengthen the capacities of journalists and content creators in Ghana, Uganda, Democratic Republic of Congo and South Africa to report on mining, environmental and human rights issues. Sessions will include presentations and discussions with researchers, environmental scientists, mining law experts, human rights advocates and civil society, and will cover contamination science, land rights, safety and investigative reporting tools. The workshop runs over three days with up to three hours of training per day and will be conducted in English and French with simultaneous interpretation. Participants who attend all sessions will receive a certificate of completion and may receive consideration for a subsequent story grant.

شروط الأهلية
Applicants must be journalists or social media content creators with experience covering mining, environmental and/or human rights issues, and must be from Ghana, Uganda, Democratic Republic of Congo or South Africa. Applications will be accepted in English and French; applicants must have a working understanding of one of these languages. Freelancers and staff from all types of media organizations are eligible; early-career, women, rural and Indigenous journalists are especially encouraged to apply.
