Latvian Academy of Sciences — election of new members (2026)

The Latvian Academy of Sciences (LZA) has announced vacancies for election of new full, corresponding and one foreign member for 2026. Nominations may be submitted by Latvian universities, scientific societies, research centres and existing LZA full members. The call lists vacancies across multiple scientific fields and sets procedures and document requirements for candidate nomination and verification. Successful candidates are elected as members of the LZA.

Election as a full, corresponding or foreign member of the Latvian Academy of Sciences

Nominations may be submitted by Latvian universities, scientific societies, research centres and LZA full members; nominees must provide a CV and supporting documents and must consent to the nomination. By 15 September the nominator must submit two recommendations from LZA full members and additional documentation listed by the Senate.

Nominations submitted electronically (signed with a secure electronic signature) or in person to the LZA secretariat; required CV and documents submitted, with two recommendations from LZA full members to be provided by 15 September.
