They include a Career Prize for lifetime contributions, Annual Prizes for concrete projects in the previous two years, and since 2019 a Young Promise Prize selected from Annual Prize laureates (eligible if the candidate obtained a doctorate no more than ten years ago). Laureates are formally inaugurated in the autumn at the Palace of Academies.

The Young Promise Prize is selected from Annual Prize laureates and requires individual candidacy and a doctorate obtained at most ten years earlier.
