KHMW Treub Bate

The KHMW Treub Bate is an annual research grant of €25,000 to promote scientific research related to the Dutch Caribbean, Suriname and Indonesia. It is awarded to researchers with a connection to Dutch knowledge institutions to support a research project. The prize supports work by doctoral candidates, postdoctoral researchers, employed researchers and eligible retired researchers.

Eligible applicants are doctoral candidates (promovendi), postdoctoral researchers, staff with an employment contract at a Dutch knowledge institution, and retired researchers who previously had an employment relationship and maintain a demonstrable ongoing relationship with a Dutch knowledge institution.

The call is announced on the KHMW web page in November 2026; applications can be submitted from that announcement (submission details to be provided in the call).
