Prijs Dr. Karel-Lodewijk Verleysen ter bekroning van medisch onderzoekswerk aan de Vrije Universiteit Brussel

The Prijs Dr. Karel-Lodewijk Verleysen is a monetary award presented for medical research conducted mainly at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel. It recognises a scientific treatise or a collection of publications in fundamental or clinical human medicine, preferably with therapeutic relevance. The prize amount is EUR 5,000, split between a personal reward and funds for continuation of the research.

EUR 5,000 total: EUR 2,500 personal reward and EUR 2,500 for continuation of the research.

Individual researchers or up to three collaborating researchers may apply. Candidates must have obtained their doctoral degree less than five years (60 months) before the application deadline; the doctorate need not yet be obtained. Candidates who applied in the prior twelve months for a prize of this Academy, laureates of Academy prizes of categories 1–3, and members of a Royal Academy of Belgium are ineligible.

Complete the provided application form and web form, include a one-page summary, a Web of Science top-50 cited publications list, a PDF with up to 10 relevant publications or the thesis, and, if applicable, official documents substantiating full months of maternity leave, parental leave or sick leave.
