Individual Study and Travel Awards

The Individual Study and Travel Awards provide modest grants to students enrolled at British universities who face unexpected financial hardship or who need support to undertake mandatory study-related travel abroad. Individual Study Awards assist students who have planned to fund their course but encounter unforeseen difficulties, while Travel Awards support short periods of compulsory study or fieldwork overseas such as thesis fieldwork or medical electives. Grants awarded have historically ranged from £500 to £750 and are intended to help students complete their courses or enable required study travel.

Applicants must be students enrolled at a British university. Individual Study Awards are normally for students in the last year of their course. Grants are not given for foundation degrees until converted to an honours degree. Specific ineligible categories are listed for study and travel grants.
