Summer Institute in Transnational Law and Practice

A two-week institute run by the University of Washington School of Law that provides legal professionals, researchers and international students with a foundation in the structure, culture and practice of the U.S. legal system. The program combines asynchronous recorded lectures with daily synchronous classes and includes small-group tutorials, visits to courts and agencies, a visit to a large law firm, and social events on the UW campus. It is offered in early September each year and is intended for professional development and preparation for U.S. law study.

Instruction in U.S. legal system and legal English, small-group tutorials, visits to state and federal courts and agencies, visit to a large law firm, social events, and study resources at Gates Hall and the law library.

Legal professionals, researchers, and international students (including incoming foreign-trained LL.M. candidates) seeking professional development or preparation for U.S. law study.
