Is Opportunity Universe really free?
Yes. Searching, browsing, creating an account and the weekly personalised newsletter are completely free and always will be. We finance the platform through optional sponsorships by organisations and the Pro membership with extra convenience features, never by charging you for access to opportunities.
Where do all these opportunities come from?
Our AI-powered search engine continuously scans every major opportunity platform, thousands of university, foundation and government websites, and the open web in 25 languages. Everything is extracted into a structured database, de-duplicated and updated daily. That's why we list more opportunities than any single platform.
What does “fully funded” mean?
Fully funded means the programme covers all major costs: typically tuition or participation, and usually accommodation, meals and often travel. Always check the official page for the exact scope; we link it on every opportunity.
How do I apply for an opportunity?
Applications always happen on the organiser's official website, never on ours. Every opportunity page has an “Apply now” button that takes you directly to the original source: no middlemen, no fees.
How current is the information?
Our crawlers run every day and opportunities whose deadlines pass are automatically archived. Still, organisers occasionally change dates on short notice. The official website is always the authoritative source.
Can I trust the opportunities listed here?
We automatically score every opportunity for legitimacy and prestige, prefer official sources, and only link to original organisers. If you spot something suspicious, report it. A real scholarship will never ask you to pay to apply (small administrative fees at official universities excepted).
What do I get with a free account?
A weekly newsletter personalised to your country, study level and interests, saved opportunities with up to three folders, personal notes and files on each saved opportunity (25 MB of storage), a calendar of your saved deadlines, and five Scholarship Matcher searches per day. It takes one email address to start.
What is the Pro membership?
Pro costs $4.90 per month and can be cancelled at any time from your account. It adds a daily newsletter (or the frequency you choose), deadline reminders 14, 7 and 2 days before your saved deadlines, unlimited Scholarship Matcher searches with twice as many matches, unlimited folders, 2 GB of storage for notes and files, the application toolkit, calendar sync with Google or Apple Calendar, and priority support. The membership starts immediately after payment.
How does the personalised newsletter work?
You tell us your country, level and subjects. Every week our engine picks the newest and best matching opportunities, prioritising fully funded ones and approaching deadlines, and sends you a compact newsletter. One click unsubscribes.
I organise a scholarship / competition. How do I get listed?
Use “Submit an opportunity”: it's free and reviewed by our editors, usually within 2–3 working days. If our crawler already found you, submitting improvements or promoting your listing is possible too.
Which languages does the site support?
The interface is available in 12 languages: English, German, Arabic, Chinese, French, Spanish, Italian, Russian, Portuguese, Vietnamese, Japanese and Korean. Opportunity descriptions stay in their original language (mostly English), because that's what you'll apply in.
Do you offer visa, admission or application consulting?
No. We're a search and discovery platform. For advice, check our blog's application guides, the application toolkit included in Pro (five guides on CVs, motivation letters, referees, interviews and timing), and the official contacts of each programme.
How is this different from other opportunity websites?
