Solar Innovators Research Fellowship 2026

The Solar Innovators Research Fellowship 2026 is a four-month applied research programme aimed at strengthening Africa’s solar manufacturing capability. It trains and connects early career researchers and engineers to solve manufacturing-grade problems across the PV value chain, with mentorship and partner introductions to industry. Fellows complete focused project work that can be tested or used directly in industry, culminating in practical outcomes and ongoing alumni connections.

Structured technical mentorship and weekly cohort sessions; direct introductions to manufacturers and partner testing; practical, outcome-oriented training; membership in an alumni network connecting researchers with industry and funders.

Open to graduates (master’s level preferred), engineers or technically focused innovators based in Africa or working on African solar manufacturing problems; skills in physics, materials science, electrical/electronic/mechanical/manufacturing engineering or data science are preferred.
