STIAS Fellowship Program 2027 for Independent Researchers

The STIAS Fellowship Programme is a fully funded residential fellowship at the Stellenbosch Institute for Advanced Study designed to support deep thinking, research, and interdisciplinary collaboration. It offers a continuous academic residency with living accommodations, office space, and access to university resources for selected researchers, writers and interdisciplinary teams. The 2027 cohort is a second-semester intake; beneficiaries gain stipends, meals, and travel support as part of a comprehensive scholarly residency.

Fully funded residency: office space, accommodation within walking distance, weekly lunch, living stipend, access to Stellenbosch University Library, travel to and from South Africa

Ideal candidates include researchers, academics, writers, artists, filmmakers, and interdisciplinary thinkers working on high-impact intellectual or creative projects.
