Kofi Annan NextGen Democracy Prize 2026

Applications are open for the Kofi Annan NextGen Democracy Prize 2026. The prize is awarded annually to a young leader aged 18 to 30 and presented at the Athens Democracy Forum, recognizing exceptional leadership in defending and promoting democracy. Winners receive a monetary prize, mentorship, and opportunities to attend international events, including travel and accommodation.

Cash prize, mentorship, invitation and travel to international events, accommodation, and network membership; finalists receive travel and accommodation to the One Young World Summit and ongoing opportunities to engage with international forums.

Must be aged 18–30 at the time of application and demonstrate leadership in defending and advancing democracy. English is required for the application and a letter of support is needed.

Submit a short video outlining your work defending democracy, provide a letter of support, and complete the application in English.
