European Parliament Schuman Traineeships 2026

The Schuman Traineeships are paid internships organized by the Secretariat of the European Parliament. Trainees are placed in offices across Europe (Brussels, Luxembourg, Strasbourg, or EU liaison offices) for a five-month period with a monthly living allowance and other benefits. There are two intake sessions each year with specific application windows.

Monthly living allowance, international work experience, networking opportunities, exposure to EU policymaking, professional training and skill development, opportunity to work in multicultural teams.

Applicants must be at least 18 years old, hold a university degree, have strong knowledge of one official EU language and good knowledge of another EU language, and must not have worked for more than two consecutive months in an EU institution previously. Citizens from EU member states, candidate countries, and in limited cases non-EU countries may apply.

Apply online through the official European Parliament traineeship portal. Applicants may select up to three traineeship opportunities during one application cycle. Required documents may include a CV, motivation letter, university diploma, language certificates, and identification documents.
