United Nations Junior Professional Officer (JPO) Programme 2026

Applications are open for the UN/DESA Junior Professional Officer (JPO) Programme 2026. The programme enables qualified Italian nationals and nationals of eligible developing countries to gain two years of work experience with international organizations, with the possibility of a further one-year extension. It is a multilateral development cooperation initiative sponsored by the Government of Italy and implemented by UN DESA, with positions across multiple UN entities and international organizations.

Two-year work assignment with international organizations, with a possible extension of up to one year.

Open to Italian nationals and nationals of eligible developing countries who meet the specified education and language requirements, including fluency in English and, for Italian nationals, in Italian as well.

Applications must be submitted online through the UN/DESA Online Web Application tool (OWA).
