Title III, Part A: Strengthening Institutions Program (84.031A)

The Strengthening Institutions Program (SIP) provides funds to eligible institutions of higher education to improve and strengthen academic quality, institutional management, and fiscal stability. The program supports projects such as purchase of scientific or laboratory equipment, facility renovation, faculty development, academic program improvement, student support services, and distance education technologies. Competitions for SIP are typically held every other year. Applications are submitted online through Grants.gov.

Grant funds to improve academic programs, institutional management, fiscal stability, purchase equipment, renovate facilities, support faculty development, tutoring and student services, and distance education technologies.

Eligible institutions of higher education (IHEs) may apply to receive funds to become more self-sufficient and expand capacity to serve low-income students.

Applicants must submit an application online through Grants.gov; application package downloadable from Grants.gov and guidance available in the application notice and instructions.
