The Strengthening Institutions Program (SIP) provides funds to eligible institutions of higher education to improve and strengthen academic quality, institutional management, and fiscal stability. The program supports projects such as purchase of scientific or laboratory equipment, facility renovation, faculty development, academic program improvement, student support services, and distance education technologies. Competitions for SIP are typically held every other year. Applications are submitted online through Grants.gov.
