Applications are open for the Thomson Foundation Fact-Checking Ambassadors Program 2025, a capacity-building initiative for mid-career Ugandan journalists. Ten journalists will participate in a Training of Trainers workshop in Kampala in November 2025, developing verification, digital fact-checking, and training techniques to promote accuracy and accountability in their newsrooms.

Benefits

Participants will take part in a Training of Trainers workshop and develop advanced verification and digital fact-checking skills; they will join a national network of Fact-Checking Ambassadors and lead peer-to-peer training cycles in their newsrooms.

Eligibility

Mid-career journalists with at least five years of professional experience in journalism or a related media field, with interest or experience in fact-checking, verification, or investigative reporting.
