About this opportunity

The South African Journal on Human Rights (SAJHR) offers postgraduate top-up bursaries for LLB graduates pursuing LLM studies dealing with constitutional, human rights and/or justice-related issues in any field at a South African public university. The bursary provides a once-off payment to assist with study costs, up to a maximum value of R30,000. The award is intended for students who meet specific eligibility criteria and who demonstrate financial need.

Eligibility

Applicants must be Black South African or African with permanent South African residency; recently graduated with an LLB from a SA university; registered for LLM in their first or second year; have an academic average of at least 65%; and be completing coursework and a research component in constitutional, human rights and/or justice-related law. Preference is given to candidates from specific SA universities and to those with demonstrable financial need.
