Information

The STAARS fellowship program pairs early-career researchers with faculty mentors to advance policy-oriented research on productivity, income growth, and rural livelihoods in African agriculture and rural spaces. Fellows participate in professional development activities, trainings, seminars, and mentorship, with a goal of building research capacity and linking participants to leading authorities in development research. The program includes a three-week in-person visit to Cornell University and mentor institutions, with the remainder conducted virtually, and provides support for travel and a modest honorarium.

Eligibility

Early career researchers, either Ph.D. students in their final year prior to degree completion or those who completed their Ph.D. no earlier than 2019.
