Funza Lushaka Bursary Programme 2025

The Funza Lushaka Bursary Programme provides financial support to South African citizens who intend to pursue teacher education. The bursary covers a substantial portion of essential expenses for approved B.Ed. and PGCE qualifications to specialise in two priority subject areas. Recipients are selected based on academic ability and alignment with national education priority subjects.

Tuition fees, accommodation and meals, books and learning materials, teaching practice laptop, possible monthly living expenses allowance

Applicants must be South African citizens with a valid SA ID, be 30 years or younger, have good academic ability, and be accepted into an approved B.Ed. or PGCE programme to specialise in two priority subject areas.
